2020 has been a year that has given the whole world many new challenges as we face the unprecedented impact of the global pandemic. Protecting ourselves, families, friends and colleagues from the risk of catching Covid-19 has become an overriding priority. The Knighton group are here to help and support you through this process
Disinfection & sanitisation
During these challenging times, of primary concern for cleaning and disinfection, building managers need to be aware of the surfaces where frequent human contact might provide a reservoir for COVID-19. While each facility and operation will be different, the key areas that should receive focused attention are usually areas of human congregation (including, but not limited to, offices, conference rooms, canteens/cafeterias, locker rooms and reception areas), hygiene facilities (including, but not limited to, lavatories/toilets, shower rooms, hand- washing stations).
The survival time for COVID-19 is not known for certain, however it is best to assume that the virus can survive on surfaces of different materials for at least 2 to 3 days, and possibly longer. Where there is reason to suspect that surfaces may have been contaminated with COVID-19, the surfaces should be sanitised as soon as possible followed by a further regular regime of sanitisation.
The Knighton Group offer a full range of specialist treatments including disinfectant fogging which uses an antiviral disinfectant solution (to BS EN 14476 standard) which cleans and sanitises large areas of a building quickly and effectively. It can kill off the virus and other biological agents in the air and on surfaces.
It is recommended that you establish a regular service for disinfection including a frequent fogging of your entire building to ensure you have taken all the appropriate steps available to protect your workforce and visitors.
